Citizen Watch America has opened a flagship store in Manhattan that will showcase all of the group’s brands: Citizen, Bulova, Accutron, Frederique Constant, and Alpina.
Citizen Watch Company opened its first multibrand showroom in Tokyo in 2017.
The New York showroom is at 605 Fifth Avenue, one block south of Rockefeller Center and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Citizen Watch United Kingdom group managing director, Mark Robinson, says his team will closely monitor the success of the new multi-brand store in New York, but has no immediate plans to open its own version in this country.
The New York store aims to be a showcase of the watchmaking and design skills across the group’s brands, which is encapsulated in Citizen’s Light is Time art installation.
Visitors to the showroom will see this visual expression of the concept of time and its relation to light (a link to Citizen’s solar-powered Eco-Drive movements) in glimmering suspended base plates that cascade from an upper floor.
CWA presents the past, present and future of its brands through modern video displays, 3D technology where watches jump out of screens, a 20 foot-long branded wall showcasing the company’s rich legacy in watchmaking and a museum archive and event space on the third floor where presentations and community events can be held.
