Seiko is drawing attention to two icons of the 20th century, the Peanuts comic strip of Snoopy and Charlie Brown, which kicked off in the 1950s, and its own Seiko 5 Sports range, which can trace its lineage back 60 years to 1963.
Seiko has produced two limited edition Seiko 5 Sports x Peanuts models with original comic strip illustrations on the dial and case-back.
Original art for both Surfboard and Parachute has been chosen from the 5 Sport’s birth year of 1963.
Details of the two watches include the use of the Schulz font that was used by Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz for the indices and text on the case-back.
The steel day-date watches use Seiko’s 4R36 automatic movement in a 38mm case for the Surfboard model and slightly slimmer 36.4mm size for the Parachute piece.
Both are worn on a grey and white nylon strap.
The Surboard model is limited to 8,900 pieces. It is sold on a grey and white nylon strap for £350.
The Parachute piece has a production run of 6,500 and a price of £330. It is worn on a black leather strap.
Seiko and their limited editions ♂️
Oh no… half of Bamford’s business is now ruined!
if you have a look around, it’s not a Seiko thing.
It’s pretty much every manufacturer, and not just watches, it’s cars, motorbikes, Pandora, clothing, handbags, computers.
it’s all about FOMO, create the fear.
