Rolex and Patek Philippe set to open at iconic luxury shopping street

Gearys, one of the oldest and most established retailers in Beverley Hills, is opening a vast side-by-side luxury watch emporium entirely devoted to Rolex and Patek Philippe.

In an era of major watchmakers closing doors with retail partners, Gearys is building for the future with a 15,000 square foot development on Rodeo Drive, the iconic epicentre of luxury shopping in Los Angeles.

The building will have a 7,000 square foot Rolex boutique, a 4,000 square foot Patek Philippe showroom, a shared rooftop terrace, back office space and workshops.

Each boutique will have its own entrance, and they will not be connected internally.

They will open in the autumn of 2024.

Gearys is including space for a workshop with five watchmakers on site for Rolex and one for Patek Philippe.

“The Patek Philippe workshop will be the only one west of New York City,” claims Tom Blumenthal, owner and president of Gearys, which currently has smaller Rolex and Patek Philippe stores on Rodeo drive, another Rolex door as part of its luxury homeware flagship showroom on Beverley Drive, and two other Rolex doors in Century City and Santa Monica.

  1. I take it this is where you will go to put your name on a list for watches that are unavailable to buy.
    Absolutely pointless!!

  2. Amazing! An enormous emporium where you can go and have a Rolex sales person tell you that no watches are available and everything is “for display only.”

  3. From my observation, both of these boutiques will simply become more sales “museums” with little or no timepieces available for immediate sale. Months ago, I visited a Patek dealer whom I have known for a long time. I asked him what is the expected wait time for a typical, plain Patek Calatrava, White Enamel Face, Black Romans, Yellow Gold. He replied, About two years. Given that this particular watch, or any basic Calatrava for that matter, would be the mainstay of the company, this is simply unacceptable, particularly for a customer who is a senior citizen already!

Oh yes, I forgot, a potential customer must first “apply” to be considered to purchase a watch. As a watch enthusiast for more than five decades, no thanks! I would advise taking my business elsewhere.

  4. ” Gearys is including space for a workshop with five watchmakers on site for Rolex and one for Patek Philippe. ”

Why need 5 watchmakers? To service those museum display only pieces or because Rolex is not a reliable as Patek?
