Pragnell has opened a specialist pre-owned watch shop right opposite its historic flagship showroom in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
The store, named Number Forty-Three by Pragnell, is named after its address at 43 Wood Street in the historic market town.
“Our dedicated pre-owned watch showroom in Stratford-upon-Avon offers an unparalleled range of the finest luxury Swiss timepieces from leading brands,” the company promises.
Pragnell has been operating as a family jeweller for over 170 years, and has been working with leading watch brands including Rolex and Patek Philippe since the middle of the 20th century, giving it the experience and expertise to buy, service, refurbish and resell both vintage and contemporary pre-owned pieces.
“We have found that pre-owned watches is a growing part of the industry. It is one of our largest brands,” Pragnell managing director Charlie Pragnell tells WatchPro.
“We are fortunate to have a good number of long term, experienced watch specialists, which is important when it comes to buying pre-owned watches over the counter,” he adds.
Expanding into pre-owned also adds an another reason for customers to build relationships with a full-service jeweller that, on top of its long-standing partnership with the world’s biggest brands, is also developing a specialism in the watches of artisan independent watchmakers.
Pragnell is currently a partner and the sole point of sale in the UK for brands including Laurent Ferrier, Greubel Forsey Bernard Lederer and Ludovic Ballouard.
It was also, until recently, the only partner for F.P. Journe, but the watchmaker is opening its own boutique in Mayfair, which will have exclusivity for the UK.
