Watches of Knightsbridge previews November watch auction at WatchPro Salon

Watches of Knightsbridge will display an eclectic mix of rare, vintage and contemporary pre-owned watches from the likes of Patek Philippe, Tudor, Rolex and Cartier at this month’s WatchPro Salon.

Watches of Knightsbridge will display an eclectic mix of rare, vintage and contemporary pre-owned watches from the likes of Patek Philippe, Tudor, Rolex and Cartier at this month’s WatchPro Salon.

The prestigious show, which takes place from November 10 to 11 at The Londoner Hotel on Leicester Square, is an opportunity for WoK to present headline pieces for an upcoming auction taking place the following week on November 18.

Among the star lots for the auction, Watches of Knightsbridge will show visitors to Salon a 1971 Cartier London elongated wristwatch, a 1970s Patek Philippe Ellipse Solar Clock and a 1990s Tudor Big Block Chronograph.

1971 Cartier London Losange Elongated Octagonal wristwatch, very rare being one of less than 6 pieces known to exist.

Made in the revered Wright & Davies workshop owned by Cartier London at the time which produced some Cartier’s most iconic pieces such as the Crash and Pebble.

Estimate is £80,000-120,000.

1970s Patek Philippe Ellipse Solar Clock that was commissioned by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister & Minister of Defence of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

100 5The clock features HRH Al Maktoum’s signature on the dial and has the UAE national emblem on the original box.

This is a extremely rare & collectable clock. Estimate £20,000-30,000

1990s Tudor “Big Block” Chronograph “School Watch” from the famous Ecole D’Horlogerie de Geneve. These were project watches assigned to young watchmakers prior to them being employed by the brands.

Estimate £6,000-7,000.

Patek philippe nautilusA rare steel and gold Patek Philippe Nautilus, ref. 3800/001 from 1982.

The watch is sold with its original cork box and papers and was consigned by its original owner.

Estimate £20,000 – £30,000

Rolex submariner

A vintage Rolex Submariner, ref. 5508 from around 1958 with a gloss black gilt dial that is fading to tropical colour.

Estimate £15,000 – £20,000
