William Wood cracks Watches of Switzerland

“This partnership is a colossal step forward towards William Wood Watches becoming a globally recognised brand with the best in the world,” says founder Johnny Garrett.

British watch brand William Wood has been picked up by the Watches of Switzerland Group.

The business, created by Jonny Garrett in 2017, is named after his grandfather who worked for the British Fire Service for over 25 years, and all William Wood watches have a connection to the fire brigade’s history.

William Wood’s logo is a vintage fireman’s helmet.

Mr Garrett is celebrating the partnership with Watches of Switzerland, which includes a digital storefront with the retailer and stock at Goldsmiths, Watches of Switzerland and Mappin & Webb stores.

“This partnership is a colossal step forward towards William Wood Watches becoming a globally recognised brand with the best in the world,” he says.

The placement also includes Watches of Switzerland stores in the United States, and Mayors in Florida, which is owned by the group.

“When I created the brand seven years ago I knew that we had something very special that would change the world,” Mr Garrett says.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am to be able to produce watches in honour of my late grandfather and firefighters which are now stocked in the most prestigious luxury watch retailer in the world. We look forward to reaching more people, changing more lives, and keeping the flame alight for our fire heroes past and present,” he concludes.

  1. This is a hugely impressive achievement for William Wood watches. It has been great to see how they have developed their brand over the past few years since inception in 2016/7. Well done to Jonny and the team and I wish them continued growth/success for the future.
