Seiko is broadening the appeal of its 5 Sports collection of affordable trend-led automatics with the launch of two models with a field watch design and the added functionality of a second time zone hand and 24 hour bezel.
There is a raw steel version on a steel bracelet and an all-black piece on a black strap it calls the Seiko 5 Sports Deception.
Both have their seconds and GMT hands decorated in an emergency services orange.
The second time zone is a diversion from the classic field watch design, which is based on army-issue timekeepers in the Second World War.
36mm Seiko 5 Sport watches were released earlier this year that stuck more closely to that aesthetic, although a day/date indication is a modern tweak.
GMTs come in larger 39.4mm and have the extra bulk of 24-hour bezels.
The are powered by the Japanese-made 4R34 automatic movement.
