Parmigiani CEO sings the praises of multibrand watch retailers

Guido Terreni says watch collectors appreciate the unbiased advice that jewellers give to them.

Parmigiani CEO Guido Terreni believes that collectors  prefer shopping at multibrand retailers because they are given unbiased advice about a range of watches from different manufacturers.

Speaking with WatchPro’s sister German language title, Mr Terreni says he wants to work with the very best multibrand retailers “who respect our brand and who are respected by their customers because they offer objective advice”.

Notably, he believes that the more expert and passionate people become, the more they appreciate the impartiality and choice that multibrand stores deliver.

“Not all of our customers are collectors, but retailers play a very important role for them. For example, I was in Germany in January and had dinner with some collectors in Hamburg. One of them, a wealthy and very educated gentleman, came from Berlin. He said that the reason [he prefers multbrands] is that the jeweller has a kind of neutral role and is therefore credible. A collector wants to look at and compare different watches. That’s why collectors like and that’s why I like multibrand stores,” Mr Terreni insists.
