Zeitwinkel 273° saphir bleu 6

Award-winning Zeitwinkel returns to WatchPro Salon to present its latest 273° Saphir Bleu

Every Zeitwinkel watch is assembled by hand in the brand’s workshop in Saint-Imier in the Swiss Jura, from parts that are designed and made in the region. Production is low, with every watch reflecting the workmanship and care of a specific watchmaker.

Zeitwinkel is an independent Swiss watchmaker that is building a community of collectors who appreciate the sophistication of its in house calibers and the precision of its finishing across dials, cases and movements, which use untreated German silver for plates and bridges.

The atelier is appearing at WatchPro Salon in November for the second consecutive year after impressing watch afficianardos at the event in 2022.

Zeitwinkel was created in 2006 by a group of watch enthusiast friends whose founding principle was to start with the design of their own in-house manufacture movements that can only be found in its own timepieces.

Every Zeitwinkel watch is assembled by hand in the brand’s workshop in Saint-Imier in the Swiss Jura, from parts that are designed and made in the region.

Production is low, with every watch reflecting the workmanship and care of a specific watchmaker.

One of the most striking models is  Zeitwinkel’s model 273° with its signature large date display at 11 o’clock.

New this year is a version of the 273° with a blue translucent sapphire dial, which means the movement can be seen from above and below.

Due to the difficulty of creating the dials, only a few of the blue sapphire watch are made per year, and they will be seen for the first time in UK at WatchPro Salon.

The watch is powered by Zeitwinkel’s own automatic in house caliber ZW0103 with patented large-date mechanism and a power reserve of 72 hours.

Bridges and plates made from silver give movements a warm look.

Zeitwinkel’s founders are looking forward to meeting again with watch enthusiasts in London and to show their model 273° Saphir Bleu.

Professor Ivica “Maks” Maksimovic says: “The warm colour of the movement in combination with the exceptional blue transparent dial is absolutely amazing. From some angles, the dial gives the impression of a nearly solid, very elegant blue coloured dial. Just a small tilt of the wrist however reveals beautiful bright blue color tones and the details of the movement are brightly lit.”

Retail price for the Zeitwinkel 273° Saphir Bleu is CHF 15,500.

Colour is becoming a strong thread through Zeitwinkel’s recent watches.

Its 188° collection, based on a classic pocket watch design, has been in the Zeitwinkel range for over a decade, but is constantly updated with new models including these frosted green, orange and burgundy models with matching leather straps.

The 39mm watches are on sale for CHF 9,900.
