The official Omega countdown clock has been started under the Eiffel Tower in Paris marking one year to go until the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympicss in the city and the Official Timekeeper has also unveiled its first timepiece linked to the games.
The Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024 special edition is a 42mm watch with an 18ct Moonshine gold diver’s bezel, hands and white lume-filled hour markers.
It has a matte white dial, laser-engraved with the familiar Seamaster waves.
There is a nice detail in the second hand, which has an Olympic flame flickering in a golden circle.
The back of the 3-hander with date watch has a closed case back inlayed with a gold medallion of the Paris 2024 logo featuring the Olympic Rings in stainless steel.
It comes on a 5-link bracelet in brushed and polished steel, but this can be switched for a rubber strap in either blue, white or red, or a dedicated Paris 2024 Nato fabric strap.
The watch is powered by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800.
Omega is taking pre-orders from today for the £8,000 watch.
