VIDEO OF THE DAY: Michael Kors Access smartwatches given social media makeover

From today, owners of a Michael Kors Access Bradshaw or Dylan touchscreen smartwatch can download and use the bespoke My Social app to customise their timepieces.

My Social, which was first seen during Baselworld week, is a feature that allows people to link to their Instagram account and set a personal post photo as their watch face.

The app allows them to scroll through an Instagram feed, select a favourite image, and even apply filters, creating a watch face that’s as personal as your life.

Users will receive the update for My Social via a push notification on their watch or can manually download the update using the System Update function in their Android Wear settings app.

Michael Kors, a Fossil Group watch brand, is pushing further and faster into smartwatches than any other major fashion watch manufacturer.

WatchPro was told earlier this year that every men’s Michael Kors watch will carry connected technology, whether that is behind an analogue or a touchscreen watch face.

For Fossil Group, the move into connected watches is affecting the company at every level; pushing them to think and act like a technology company more than a fashion or watchmaking business.
