IWC Portugieser automatic and chronograph come in bright white and blue

The brand is using the same color combination for two new Portugieser watches, an Automatic and a Chronograph.

Omega’s Speedmaster Silver Snoopy 50th Anniversary chronograph, with a white dial and blue counters, is one of its most popular models in recent years, and has been traded at three times its retail value on the secondary market.

IWC is using the same colour combination for two new Portugieser watches, an Automatic and a Chronograph.

The automatic has small seconds and a seven day power reserve indicator, arranged in the left and right panda dial style, with the date at 6 o’clock.

The two-pusher chronograph (pictured top) has a central stopwatch hand, a 30-second counter at 12 o’clock and small seconds at 6 o’clock.

Although sharing the colours of the Omega Speedmaster, the absence of Snoopy space-walking in one of the subdials means IWC is not going to appeal quite as much to collectors, but the latest Portugeisers certainly make a style statement.

The Portugieser Automatic (Ref. IW500715) comes in a 42.3mm stainless steel case housing an IWC-manufactured 52010 calibre, which is presented via a clear case back.

It is worn on a blue alligator leather strap with a folding clasp and priced at £13,100.

The Portugieser Chronograph (Ref. IW371620) is in a smaller 41mm steel case housing IWC’s 69355 automatic calibre with a power reserve of 46 hours.

Again the movement is visible through a clear case back.

It is sold on a flexible blue rubber strap, giving the watch a more sporty feel.

Both watches are available immediately through IWC boutiques, authorised retail partners or online at IWC.com and are eligible for a 6-year warranty.
