The memorable collaboration between Richard Mille and Felipe Massa began as a friendly challenge between two friends. Felipe wanted a watch that could resist the high G Forces in Formula 1, while being easy to wear.

The RM005 Felipe Massa Limited Edition was developed to withstand the violent accelerations and vibrations of an F1 Grand Prix, while combining the exquisite and iconic characteristic of Richard Mille watches. The watch offered in the auction (lot 59; estimate $70,000 – 90,000) features a skeletonized automatic winding movement and a date indicator.

The Jules Audemars Ref. 25909

Hindman 3

Audemars Piguet launched the Jules Audemars collection in the 1990s to pay tribute to the co-founder of the brand – Jules Louis Audemars. The Jules Audemars Ref. 25909 (lot 37; estimate: $40,000 – 60,000) combines two of watchmaking’s most celebrated complications, the chronograph, and the tourbillon.

These timeless elements, combined with the engine-turned dial and the spectacular tourbillon carriage – makes this watch a classic, representing the foundation of precision watchmaking.

The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 96

The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 96 was first introduced in 1932, representing the first numbered reference from Patek Philippe. The Ref. 96 saw an outstanding production life, spanning from 1932 to 1973, and is today considered to be one of the purest forms of elegance in a dress watch.

The watch offered in this sale (lot 63; estimate: $8,000 – 12,000) is a flawlessly preserved example that has changed hands just once since its original purchase in 1945.

The Rare Breitling, Ref. J56321 Limited Edition ‘Emergency’ Chronograph Wristwatch

Breitling

Breitling is renowned for crafting some of the most robust watches, including watches designed to save lives. In 1995, Breitling launched an Emergency feature designed specifically built for pilots, aircrew, and anyone else who might suddenly be in an emergency situation.

The Ref. J56321 18k White Gold and Diamond watch offered in the auction (lot 44; estimate: $18,000 – 22,000) is a limited edition produced at only 25 pieces and juxtaposes the luxurious elements of watchmaking with the iconic features that has turned Breitling into one of the most sought-after brands.

The version available in the auction (lot 38; estimate: $18,000 – 22,000) is a “Phoenix” edition, in which the sunset and sunrise displays are programmed to that specific region.

Reflecting on the auction, Senior Watch Specialist at Hindman, Sean Johnson, said: “We are looking forward to seeing how everyone from experienced watch collectors to first time bidders react to the offering.

Adding: “While we are particularly excited to see how watches by Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, and Rolex will perform, there are also a range of watch brands for all collectors such as Breitling, Omega, Vacheron Constantin, Heuer, Tudor, and much more.”
