Freedom to Exist looks to build network of 20 retailers in the UK

Freedom to Exist (FTE) a London-based designer of minimalist watches, has unveiled its latest collections: the 30 Edition for women and the 40 Edition for men.

Both use Ronda movements in Scandi design timepieces with Italian leather straps.

FTE was created by CEO Paul Tanner and his wife, who is creative director. Mr Tanner has a background in furniture design, having spent two years as product development manager for online furniture business Made.com.

He is currently a senior buyer in the furniture department of Marks & Spencer.

The FTE watch brand was created last year, partly financed by a successful crowd funding drive on Kickstarter.

The watches, which retail for £145 for the women’s range and £165 for the men’s, are on sale via the company’s own website and at design-focused retailers including the Barbican gift shop, Another Country, Clerkenwell London, Skandium, and Twentytwentyone in London.

Mr Tanner says the aim is to grow the brand internationally, but first to increase the number of UK stockists. “Our current focus is UK stockists. Once we reach twenty we will then look into Europe, America and Asia,” he tells Watchpro.
