Last week TAG Heuer dropped an irresistible Carrera in red.
Today, we receive word of a limited edition designed by Bamford Watch Department in collaboration with RUF Automobile and Highsnobiety.
With the exception of TAG Heuer, it would be hard to say RUF Automobile, Highsnobiety or Bamford Watch Department have household name cut through.
Perhaps that is the point as they are all champions of low volume, independent craftspeople and creative entrepreneurs.
Bamford Watch Department (BWD) is a London-based watch customization specialist with official ties to TAG Heuer, Hublot, Zenith and others.
Ruf Automobile is also in the customization game, making modified Porsches to order from its factory in Bavaria, Germany.
Highsnobiety, also from Germany, is a global fashion and lifestyle media brand and online retailer.
Their collaboration with TAG Heuer, vicariously through BWD, has produced the RUF x Bamford x Highsnobiety – TAG Heuer Carrera watch that comes bundled with a RUF and Highsnobiety-branded varsity jacket, work shirt, pants, coveralls, and an array of hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts, jeans, overalls and caps.
There are also automotive objects including a model car, key chain, Yeti water bottle, mug and classic rear view mirror air freshener.
Only 100 pieces are being sold globally, priced at £6,500.
The watch itself has a green dial with yellow accents, both from the Huf colour palette.
It comes with two straps: a Saffiano Verde leather strap in green with yellow stitch and a Correa Nato strap in green with the RUF logo and stitch in yellow.
The automatic chronograph comes in a 42mm steel case housing TAG Heuer’s Calibre Heuer 02 movement.
