Ferragamo continues its mission for sustainability with two new F-80 Skeletons

Ferragamo continues its mission for sustainability

One of Ferragamo’s most popular watch collections, the F-80 Skeleton, has debuted a distinctive new look that symbolises the company’s commitment to developing and employing cutting-edge materials with minimal negative effects on the environment.

The previous addition to the collection’s line-up was the F-80 Skeleton with Sustainable Strap, introduced during World Ocean Month 2022. Now, just a few months later, a new version has been released with the watch’s primary components made from two eco-friendly materials.

A composite consisting of 40% nylon with 63% bio-based material from renewable sources and 60% ceramic powder made from natural minerals is used to make the 41mm case. Additionally, 39% of the materials in the TPU-made bracelet are bio-based.

The two new models are made in tone-on-tone colours that allude to natural elements – Amaretto, which is reminiscent of earthy shades, and Navy Blue, which evokes the depths of the ocean. Water-resistant to 100 metres, they are presented on straps with a butterfly clasp and double Gancini logo.

All F-80 models feature two lug screws at 6 and 12 o’clock that are Ion plated (IP), which involves coating stainless steel with a layer of titanium oxide that gives a rose-gold pigment and has the same non allergenic properties as steel.

The Swiss-made Landeron 24 Automatic Skeleton three hand movement can be viewed through the glass caseback, as well as the sunray-finish dial, which highlights the solid colours. The self-winding calibre, which relies only on kinetic energy transferred through the wearer’s arm movement, is another element of Ferragamo’s sustainable strategy.Ferragamo alovmrfj ferr f 80 skeleton sfkg00123 4The F-80 Skeleton Automatic watches are available now through certain authorised merchants, Ferragamo boutiques, and ferragamo.com, priced at £1,650.
