Beaverbrooks adds tenth TAG boutique to portfolio with near £1m York investment

The new 3,380 sq ft store opened on Davygate, with the brand sinking £900,000 into the new site that will also house a bridal collection

Beaverbrooks has opened its new up-sized store in York, with an investment of almost £1m into the TAG Heuer boutique.

The new 3,380 sq ft store opened on Davygate in the former Accessorize and Space NK boutiques having relocated from its smaller premises in Spurriergate, with Beaverbrooks sinking £900,000 into the new site.

Alongside TAG Heuer, a jewellery offering including a bridal collection will also be housed in the store.

The new store marks the tenth TAG Heuer boutique added to the Beaverbrooks portfolio and is said to create four jobs.

Speaking to Insider Media, Anna Blackburn, managing director at Beaverbrooks, said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our long-running and incredibly valued partnership with TAG Heuer to open its first luxury boutique in the region. Davygate is the perfect location for the new boutique, which will complement our larger, new-look store.

“In addition to a new luxury watch experience, we are excited to give shoppers access to our team’s diamond and bridal expertise. We’re confident the new store will be popular with customers – both local and further afield – and look forward to continuing to provide outstanding levels of customer service, while showcasing our expertise and passion for luxury watches and fine jewellery.”

Beaverbrooks has ramped up its luxury offering over recent months, after reporting a ‘record-breaking month’ in December 2022.

Sales were up 8% YOY for the whole of December, with the final two weeks of the year up by 18%.

Also at in autumn of last year, Beaverbrooks marked an investment of over £1.8m into a new store and store refurbishment in Cambridge and the West Midlands.

The luxury watch, diamond and jewellery retailer now boasts 79 stores across the UK.

In coming months, Davygate will see more watch retail arrive, with Mappin & Webb moving into a former Debenhams store and Breitling opening in a former Halifax branch.
