Swiss watch brand 88 Rue du Rhone has signed up to become the official time partner of the Baftas.
As part of the sponsorship deal 88 Rue du Rhone will gift a specially created limited-edition watch with the Bafta logo engraved on the caseback to all 40 presenters of the the Bafta Film Awards and the Bafta Television Awards. The remainder of these limited-edition Bafta watches will be given away in social media-led competitions used to promote its sponsorship of the event.
The brand will also gift general release 88 Rue du Rhone watches to all Bafta nominees. The day before the event the nominees will be invited to a suite in The Savoy Hotel in London to pick out their watches.
88 Rue du Rhone co-founder Pierre Bernheim said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring such a well renowned academy as Bafta. This is a fantastic opportunity for 88 Rue du Rhone and we are excited to explore all avenues this partnership brings.”
The sponsorship deal is very much in line with what 88 Rue du Rhone’s sister brand Raymond Weil has had in place with music event the Brit Awards for several years.
