Online watch retailer Watcho has taken over from Watch Pilot to run a multibrand showroom in Richmond, an affluent satellite town to the Southwest of London.
The new Watcho store is an authorised dealer for Rado, Raymond Weil, Frederique Constant, Ball Watch Co., Tissot, Seiko, Fortis, Junghans, Hamilton, Certina, Garmin, Herbelin, Bulova, Baume et Mercier, Mondaine and more.
Watcho was founded in 2012 as an ecommerce business specialising in volume watch brands.
It also has a store in Milton Keynes, trading as The Watch and Clock Shop.
Watch Pilot, which previous ran the Richmond showroom, closed in October, and Watcho has taken the lease over.
“We have not purchased the Watch Pilot business. We opened the store which was formerly occupied by Watch Pilot. The store has been branded as a Watcho store and the suppliers are supplying to Watcho,” clarifies company director Pradip Sarda.
The Watch Pilot store opened at the end of 2022 but closed less than a year later.
Watch Pilot’s ecommerce site still appears to be trading this morning and the company’s managing director Tim Harrison has told WatchPro he is looking for fresh investment to revive the business in the new year.
Watcho says the Richmond store is a place for watch enthusiasts to explore and collect classic timepieces from reputed watchmakers.
“The new store will provide employment within the local community as well as contribute to the growth and development of the UK watch and jewellery retail industry. The company is excited to bring its expertise to this new retail space and looks forward to serving customers with passion and dedication,” the company describes.
Watcho is currently promising to plant a tree or donate a meal to somebody in need every time it sells a watch.
