Toronto-based independent watchmaker, VIEREN, has launched the second novelty in its new Stereo collection of skeletonized timepieces.
Inspired by the golden age of music fused with Swiss craftsmanship, the finely sculpted case rests elegantly on the wrist and commands attention with understated opulence.
Handcrafted for over six months in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, the ultra-thin, rectangular case and bracelet is plated entirely in luxurious polished gold PVD; a first for the brand for this new collection.
Powered by the Swiss ETA-2671 automatic watch movement, the timepiece features 25 jewels and a 44-hour power reserve.
On the design, Sunny Fong, VIEREN’s Creative Director, explains: “I was drawn to the classic stereo and audio systems of my childhood as inspiration for the remix of our automatic movement.”
VIEREN was founded in Toronto in 2020 by next-generation watch entrepreneur, Jess Chow, to celebrate over 40 years of luxury watchmaking in her family.
After building her career advising brands as a management consultant, she was ready to pursue her passion and start a business of her own when she turned 30.
Chow’s direct access to a watchmaking studio in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland allows VIEREN to design every bespoke component of their limited-edition collections in-house, and deliver the highest quality in Swiss craftsmanship.
Leading the brand’s creative direction is Sunny Fong – fashion designer of luxury womenswear label, VAWK and winner of Project Runway Canada – who has had his timeless designs on runways and red carpets around the world.
Together, they are a new generation reinventing automatic watches to inspire people to power their time by celebrating life’s meaningful moments in style.
The Gold Sunray retails for $5,500 USD and $7,500 CAD, limited to only 5 units, and is available exclusively on vieren.co.
