Tissot chronographs celebrate 25 years as MotoGP partners

Tissot expands its T-Race collection with the introduction of seven distinct watches featuring technical and design taken from motorcycle DNA

Tissot is expanding its T-Race collection with watches to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the MotoGP series and a quarter-century as the championship’s official timekeeper.

The spring 2024 drop includes two limited editions marking the anniversaries.

In addition, there are two extensions, unrelated to MotoGP, of the T-Race Chronograph Quartz range and three models equipped with a Powermatic 80 automatic movement that introduce a new design and movement to the T-Race series.

For lovers of the finest mechanical machines, the Tissot T-Race MotoGP Chronograph Valjoux 75th Anniversary watch, a limited edition of 2,024 pieces, has an automatic Valjoux A05 chronograph movement with Nivachron hairspring in a 45mm x 14.79mm steel case.

The watch has a MotoGP- inspired design including details that mimic superbikes’ break discs, pushers and engine cooling fins. They have the MotoGP 75th anniversary logo on a closed steel caseback.

Its blue dial with red and grey accents are the colours of the MotoGP series and have chronograph counters and a small seconds subdial at 2, 6 and 10 o’clock on the dial, creating room for oversized lume-filled hour markers at 12, 4 and 8.

Tissot is taking expressions of interest for the watch ahead of launch at the end of March. It is priced at £605 and will be delivered in a case resembling a motorcyclist’s crash helmet.

The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Chronograph Quartz 75th Anniversary, a limited edition of 8,000, has a darker bezel framing a dial configured with the more usual 3, 6, 9 pattern of subdials, with the 75th anniversary logo in the 30-second chronograph counter.

Like the Valjoux version, the watch is worn on a rubber strap in MotoGP’s signature blue. It is on sale at the end of March for £1,950.

In addition to the MotoGP specials, Tissot has also unveiled two T-Race Chronograph Quartz watches with integrated steel bracelets.

One has a white dial, the other black. Both 45mm watches have the same bezels that look like brake discs and engine cooling ducts on the side of the case, which are of course sealed to protect the Swiss-made quartz movement from water to a depth of 100 metres.

They are on sale now for £550.

Finally, in the T-Race range are a trio of sporty three-handers with date that introduce a new look for the family and, for the first time, use the Swatch-made Powermatic 80 movement that is used in the bestselling PRX line.

There are models in steel (with or without a gold coloured treatment) that can be worn on a steel bracelet or integrated black rubber strap.

Broad lume-filled hands and hour markers along with fixed bezels with exposed screws complete the look.
