After market specialist TheRealReal has listed and sold the most expensive watch in its history: a Patek Philippe 2526 with a platinum case, extremely rare 18ct white gold bracelet and diamond set dial.
The $480,000 watch was put up for sale on March 24 and sold within 24 hours.
TheRealReal says it has seen a 54% year on year rise in the average sale price since the start of 2022 for Patek Philippe watches.
The ever-popular Nautilus 5711 sells on average for $125,000, 258% above its $35,000 retail price.
TheRealReal is keen to publicize the half million dollar sale as it pushes upmarket with its pre-owned watch offer.
The Patek Philippe watch was part of a curated capsule collection of highly collectible timepieces including a vintage Rolex Daytona, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and Patek Philippe Nautilus.
