In what may be the final watch with the fingerprints of outgoing CEO François-Henry Bennahmias all over it, Audemars Piguet has unveiled the Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon “Spider-Man,” as just the second collaboration piece with Marvel that began in 2021.
The first Marvel watch, a similarly bold concept with Black Panther on a flying tourbillon dial, became an internet and social media sensation when it launched.
The limited edition Spiderman watch is light enough to swing through the skyscrapers of Manhattan thanks to its 42mm titanium and ceramic construction.
Only 250 are being made of the openwork tourbillon watch, which uses a new hand-wound Calibre 2974.
Audemars Piguet watchmakers shaved every extraneous element from the movement to give it an open, perhaps web-like appearance with a three-dimensional Spidey crouching on top.
His suit is laser-engraved to give it a textile finish before being hand painted.
AP has also created a unique, one of one Spiderman watch with him appearing in a black suit.
The watch comes on a black and grey rubber strap that can be swapped for a supplied black and red rubber strap.
