Shop Harrison Ford’s favourite watches with eBay

As the final Indiana Jones movie, The Dial of Destiny, hits cinemas, eBay takes a look at how interest is soaring for watches worn by the film’s star.

Indiana Jones makes a long-awaited return to cinema screens this month in The Dial of Destiny, which is being billed as the final film in the franchise.

Harrison Ford reprises his iconic role as an aging archaeologist, and this is reminding people of other iconic roles over his illustrious career.

eBay is among the actor’s biggest fans, and has done a bit of Indie-style digging of its own to unearth timepieces associated with earlier movies and television appearances.

Its excavation has discovered that watches worn by the star are gaining traction on the platform.

For example, in his is most recent on-screen appearance as Dr. Paul Rhoads in the TV series Shrinking, the actor wore a IWC Pilot’s Mark XV, and subsequently searches for the model on eBay UK increased 55% in the past year.

And, while his most popular characters, Han Solo and Indy, have tended to keep their wrists covered over the years, in the actor’s personal collection, Harrison tends to gravitate towards timepieces of an aviation nature, with a touch of practical style for good measure.

As a licensed plane and helicopter pilot, Mr Ford has remained faithful to his Breitling Aerospace Evo – a timepiece that launched in 1985 and was designed specifically with pilots in mind – wearing it since the ‘90s and as recently as last month at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Also standing the test of time amongst other collectors, searches for this 43mm digital hybrid have increased by 45% on eBay UK in January 2023 compared to June 2022.

A recent addition to Ford’s collection, the Bremont ALT1-P Pilot chronograph stands as a testament to his love of aviation.

Purchased in the London Mayfair boutique during a well-deserved break from the filming of his latest whip-cracking adventure, this aviation-specific timepiece exemplifies the meticulous craftsmanship of the esteemed British watchmakers, Nick and Giles English.

But taking inspiration from Mr Ford during his 1970’s and 1980’s heyday, his practical and iconic Rolex Datejust remains a coveted model amongst watch enthusiasts, as searches for the timepiece increased by 49% in March of this year, compared to the same period last year.

“Harrison’s Ford’s personal style has been praised throughout the years and he continues to send searches soaring on eBay as he inspires watch enthusiasts with his collection of timepieces. Whether it’s the Breitling, or Bremont – mixing traditional aesthetics and contemporary functionality – or his timeless Rolex, the actor’s watches are a masterclass in elevated ruggedness, showing the power of investing in a perennial model,” says Keith Metcalfe, director of luxury at eBay UK.

eBay points out that all of actor’s favourite watches are available to shop on eBay and backed by its Authenticity Guarantee.

  1. As to Harrison Ford being a Pilot, I am a little surprised in the ‘choice’ of the ALT-1P, which although it has the internal rotating bezel for elapsed time; the original ALT-1Z, which was truly a Pilot’s Timepiece, having had the added ‘Horizon’ on the ‘60 Second Register’ as well as the Zulu Time Hand for travel whether USA to Nepal, to Cairo, to Geheimhaven, or only Shanghai to China to India or the Last Crusade’s NYC to Venice to the German-Austria Border. The updated Williams ALT-1WT has created the Internal Bezel to mirror International Cities in 24 Time-Zones, there, it may have been nice to include Cities on the Formula-One Tour.
