Seiko launches Toyko boutique for premium brands

Seiko has opened its first ever premium boutique in Toyko solely offering the watch manufacture’s luxury brands.

While Seiko’s luxury Grand Seiko brand might be familiar to most, you might be forgiven for not being recognising its Credor and Galante stablemate which have almost no visibility outside of Japan.

The first Seiko Premium Boutique was opened in Toyko’s high-end Ginza shopping district at the end of July, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony taking place the day before, carried out by Seiko president and chief executive officer Shinji Hattori and Wang Leehom. The Chinese-American singer and actor has been Seiko’s brand ambassador in Asia since 2011.

Mr Hattori said: “Showcasing Seiko’s prestigious collections, this boutique will offer a true window to the Seiko world, and visitors will experience the uniqueness of Seiko’s craftsmanship and Japanese hospitality.”

The boutique offers the widest available selection of Grand Seiko watches as well as Credor masterpieces such as the Spring Drive Minute Repeater which sells for JPY 30 million (£155,178). The boutique will also hold a series of masterclasses demonstrating the skill of its master craftsmen.
