Social media is so full of frustration that Rolex watches are unattainable, it is hard to get a read on how people feel about the new references launched at Watches & Wonders today.
Here is a quick first look:
There are certainly a couple of crowd pleasers in Oyster Steel.
A modernised — albeit virtually identical — version of the Rolex Air King. You will be hard pressed to notice at a glance that a 0 before the 5 on the minutes scale has appeared and a straight crown guard and straight sides have also been added.
It goes on sale in May for £5,900.
More memorable is a GMT Master II in the iconic black and green colours of Rolex’s Kermit Submariner.
Here, the keen-eyed are instantly rewarded when they notice that the crown and date has been flipped to the left of the watch.
It is offered on a choice of Oyster or Jubilee style steel bracelet for £8,800 and £9,000 respectively.
Up the price ladder to £50,850 comes the Rolex Day-Date 40 in platinum with an elegant pale blue dial.
It will arrive in shops in October.
A Yacht-Master 42 has arrived for the first time in the JPS colours of yellow gold and black.
It comes on the Oysterflex bracelet for £22,750. No release date.
If you want your Yacht-Master with a bit more bling, there is a version set with gems — pink sapphire, light blue sapphire, diamond, purple sapphire and dark blue sapphire — on rotation.
It will go on sale for £64,400.
Ladies are likely to love all of the above, but there are 32mm Date-Justs just for them in 31mm.
Rolex has introduced a range of styles, dials and materials across the range with prices ranging from £9,700 to £35,250.
