Tudor has taken a more is more approach to novelties this year with a slew of fresh looks for its Black Bay family.
A sporty Black Bay Pro GMT looks the most commercial, with its 24 hour fixed steel bezel.
If you can’t get your hands on a Rolex Explorer, this is an obvious alternative at half the price.
The 39mm watch comes with a manufacture movement and the choice of straps in leather/rubber or fabric, in addition to the integrated steel bracelet option.
The steel on steel retails for £3,080, while the watch on either strap is £2,840.
Black Bay GMT S&G
Another Tudor with more than a passing resemblance to a unicorn watch from big brother Rolex is the 41mm Black Bay GMT, which has been released in the root beer colour combination of black and brown.
There is an integrated bi-colour steel bracelet piece retailing for £4,390 and it can be bought on a fabric or leather strap for £3,320.Â
Black Bay Chrono S&G
Brown and black is root beer while black and yellow gold says John Player Special to smokers and Formula racing enthusiasts.
Tudor has turned to the colourway for its latest Black Bay Chrono S&G, which has a golden champagne-colour sunray finish dial framed by a black ceramic bezel with gold inserts.
It is offered on the bi-colour steel and gold bracelet for £5,590.
On a fabric or leather strap it retails for £4,620.
Black Bay 31/36/39/41 S&G
Every brand needs a classic three-hander — very likely to be the most commercial best seller, no matter how much people push chronographs and complications.
Tudor has introduced a smaller size MT5200 movement to a large collection of Black Bay three-handers in new 31mm and 39mm case sizes.
These sit alongside existing models in 36mm and 41mm cases.
There is a new curved case and a smaller rounded crown to improve wearability, and a clasp on the steel bracelet that allows for small adjustments without the need to remove or add links.
In all, there are 28 different variations across the collection, including diamond-set pieces.
Prices range from £3,810 to £5,750, making them the ideal place to start a love affair with mechanical Swiss-made watches.
