The 1970s are back with a bang: flares, perms, Rubik’s Cubes (thanks to a G-SHOCK collaboration watch) and now, thanks to Timex, the original Space Invaders arcade game.
Timex has already embracing that seventies vibe, as seen in the PAC-MAN edition of its iconic T80 — another throwback to the decade that bought us the first digital watches.
The new T80 Space Invaders watch is adorned with the relentlessly evil invading spaceships and uses the same chilling sound effects of the original 1978 arcade game.
If only the watch could also exude the smell of stale fags, Old Spice and testosterone, the flashback to the late seventies would be complete.
Timex’s latest T80 is a 34mm steel on steel watch with stopwatch, alarm and timer functions.
It is water resistant to 30 meters and goes on sale today for $89.
