Prestons is set relocating its Rolex boutique in Leeds to a new flagship store in the modern Victoria Gate shopping centre at the Eastern end of the city centre.
Victoria Gate opened in 2016 and is a bright, modern extension designed to contrast and complement the historic Victoria Quarter, one of the country’s oldest indoor shopping malls. They are collectively known as Victoria Leeds.
The space is bookended with John Lewis at one end and Harvey Nichols at the other. Iconic London restaurant brand The Ivy recently opened there, and Ralph Lauren brought its upmarket fashion to the centre as well.
Prestons’ Rolex showroom, which is expected to open late summer, is taking over the 2,000 sq ft former Aspinal of London unit, which has a far larger window frontage than the previous location.
Jo Coburn, general manager of Victoria Leeds, said: “Rolex is an internationally recognised, iconic brand, and we are delighted that Prestons have decided to open their Rolex boutique in Victoria Leeds. They are sure to be a big draw for shoppers all over the north east.”
Karl Massey, managing director at Prestons, added: “After seven successful years in Leeds, Prestons are delighted to be relocating their Rolex boutique to the flagship unit at Victoria Gate.
“This development and in particular this retail space is perfect for the next stage of the Rolex journey and we are excited by the opportunity this brings.
“This new showroom will allow us to represent the Rolex Oyster and Cellini collections in a more fitting environment best suited for the world’s leading watch manufacturer.”
Prestons’ Rolex boutique was previously located on Commercial Street, a cluster of high end jewellers and a destination for the region’s watch enthusiasts.
