Polish watchmaker Hvlinia pays tribute to the 1830 opening of the Liverpool to Manchester Railway

Watches go on sale in September, but can be pre-ordered online now for £315.

Hvlinia, a watchmaker based in Warsaw, Poland, has been inspired by the opening of the Liverpool to Manchester Railway in 1830 for a limited edition that celebrates the industrial revolution that began in Britain.

The L&MR collection watches come in elegantly curved cases housing mechanical Miyota 9029 automatic movements with rotors engraved with the date of the railway opening.

Hvlinia has designed the hour hands as a modern interpretation of a European clock design dating back to 1830s.

A highlighted mark at minute 27 is a reference to the fact that the trains at the Liverpool and Manchester Railway travelled at a speed of 27 km/h.

  1. I wonder if customers buying watches are aware that they are sponsors of the war, watches are produced by a Belarusian company that pays taxes in Belarus
