Japanese watchmaker Orient is continuing its relaunch into Western markets with a drop of Neo Classic Sport watches adopting distinctive designs from the 1960s and 1970s.
Japan was booming at the time of Orient’s first unveiling of its sportiest collections using cushion-shaped cases and dials featuring a block-patterned scale with thick lume-filled hands.
They have a second crown at 4 o’clock that turns an internal diver’s one hour countdown bezel.
There are three black-dialed Orient Neo Classic Sports models appearing this month, all housing Japanese-made mechanical automatic three-hand day-date movements in cases measuring 46mm x 43.5mm and 13.9mm thick.
A steel-on-steel model comes in a white, black and orange colourway.
There is model with a bronze-coloured case with bronze accents on the dial.
And a 2,000-piece limited edition with a blackened case and rainbow coloured baton hour markers (pictured top).
They have closed case backs and are all water resistant to 200 metres.
