Philipp Plein and Timex have signed an agreement which will facilitate the development, production and distribution of Plein Sport watches.

Strategically positioned between fashion lifestyle and sportswear, Philipp Plein says Plein Sport is the new frontier of the activewear in the luxury segment.

Plein Sport watches are designed uniquely with style and comfort, with the main protagonist of the first 2023 release being the Plein Sport Thunderstorm.

Coming in both a chronograph and quartz version, the Thunderstorm features a Tiger on the crown and a Scratch, a trademark symbol of Plein Sport.

Mr Plein, Founder and CEO of Philipp Plein, explained: “The Plein Sport focus is on the experience and premium positioning. PLEIN SPORT reaches younger generations thanks to its cool designs and affordable price point.

“The idea is to bring a luxury approach to the unsaturated activewear market. It’s exciting because we have the opportunity to build something from scratch while leveraging the brand equity I’ve created with Philipp Plein.”

While Tobias Reiss-Schmidt, President and CEO of Timex Group, added: “We are thrilled about collaborating with Philipp Plein on the introduction of the PLEIN SPORT watch line.

“The success of the launch of Philipp Plein Timepieces and Jewelry has exceeded all expectations. PLEIN SPORT targets a different consumer in the exciting and growing activewear segment and will drive incremental business and growth.”

The watch collections will officially debut in the market starting from April 2023 on PLEINSPORT.com and at selected authorised retailers.
