Oris delights fans with addition of in house movements for its Diver Sixty-Five

Oris is launching watches with its Calibre 400 as fast as it can make them because every time it uses the manufacture movement, its sales skyrocket.

“Watches with our in house movement are the bestselling references in every collection where we use them,” a spokesperson for Oris tells WATCHRPRO.

The first collection to use the Calibre 400 was the Aquis, with two models launching in November of 2020 and instantly topping the sales chart for Oris.

Next up was the Oris Propilot X Calibre 400, which was unveiled at Watches and Wonders in March and is on sale now in a range of eye-catching colours.

Oris shone a light on the Aquis and Propilot families with the upgrade to its in house movement, but what many customers were waiting for was the iconic Diver Sixty-Five.

That wait ended this summer with the unveiling of Oris’s Diver Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400, a watch that has been more than half a century in the making.

It has classic mid-sixties styling, which makes it relatively compact at just 40mm across in its steel case with aluminium insert bezel.

Oris’s movement, presented in all its glory through a sapphire case back, has a staggering 120 hour power reserve and the watch is sold with a 10 year guarantee, such is the brand’s confidence in its movement and quality control.

Oris’s Diver Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400 went on sale at the beginning of September for £2,750 on a steel bracelet or £2,550 on a rubber strap, and will be the crowd-pleasing star of Oris’s presentation at WATCHPRO Salon in November.
