MB&F and H. Moser love child heads to Only Watch auction

MB&F’s Max Büsser and H. Moser’s Edouard Meylan have joined forces to create a unique version of Moser’s Streamliner for this year’s Only Watch auction.

The watch effectively melds the best of Moser’s sporty Streamliner with the three-dimensional architecture of MB&F’s Legacy Machine.

While combining the design codes of both brands, the star of the show is the return of DJ Panda, who is in charge of the sounds on the chiming minute repeater timepiece.

The watch houses a brand new three-dimensional chiming movement that has been developed exclusively for the Only Watch charity auction and will never be used again.

The movement has a large suspended balance wheel looming and pulsing over an aquamarine fumé dial with the hand-painted panda at his mixing desk positioned next to the minute repeater’s hammers, which strike gongs that can be seen circling the perimeter of the dial.

“With this creation, MB&F and H. Moser & Cie. deliver a masterful mix of their DNAs, rhythmically punctuated with signature elements from each of the two brands. With its rare poetic sophistication, this watch is the height of technical excellence,” the two brands say.

The 42.3mm steel-on-steel watch uses a hand-wound HMC 906 manufacture movement with 54 hour power reserve.

Its hand finishing and decoration can be enjoyed via a large exhibition case back.

“A successful mix of two sets of expertise and DNA which mutually enrich one another, the H. Moser X MB&F Streamliner Pandamonium model is a one-off piece resulting from a unique development process, featuring a unique movement and a unique dial, created especially for Only Watch, and providing us with the opportunity to excel ourselves for a good cause,” says Mr Meylan.

The watch will be sold at November’s Only Watch charity auction, which raises awareness and funds for the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy.

It goes to auction with an estimate of CHF 300,000 to 400,000.
