British indie Marloe Watch Company is taking pre-orders now for a new Daytimer collection that the company says is the purest expression of its design philosophy to date.
The Daytimer is a modern two-hander with a small seconds subdial and date in a range of fresh colourways with different textured, dials.
Marloe says the range is intended for everyday wear and designed with convenience and clarity of timekeeping in mind.
“The brief was simply – to design a watch that I wanted to wear,” says Gordon Fraser, Marloe’s co-founder. “The joy of this process was really getting down to what excited me about watches in the first place: simplicity, broad dials and unobtrusive, subtle design, functionality and ergonomics and the beauty of a manual-winding Swiss mechanical movement.”
Daytime watches, which are designed in the UK and manufactured in Switzerland, will officially launch in June, but Marloe is already taking pre-orders at its website, priced at £799.
There will be four limited editions of the steel 41mm watches.
Daytimer Tableau is a limited edition of 200 pieces.
There will be only 50 of the Daytimer Black Edition made.
Daytimer Madainn (Scottish Gaelic for ‘morning’) will be limited to 100.
There will be 200 of the Daytime Gealach (Scottish Gaelic for ‘moon’).
Two years in the making, Marloe says the Daytimer represents a sea-change in its approach to watch design that truly reflects the independent British watchmaker’s founding principles.
Lovely looking watches, ordered the Daytimer Tableau to add to my growing Marloe watch collection
