Watches of Switzerland calls its three central London flagships a golden triangle comprising showrooms on Regent Street, Oxford Street and Brompton Road, but a new destination further east is emerging at the historic Covent Garden piazza.
Covent Garden has always been a cultural and entertainment hub, thanks in parts to housing the Royal Opera House, but was barren when it came to premium stores for watches until 2016 when The Watch Gallery was first to move in with a small unit.
Bucherer then bought The Watch Gallery and moved into a 4,000 square foot corner unit in 2021.
That showroom has been expanded and reconfigured over recent years to create boutiques for a number of brands, including the first Girard-Perregaux store in the UK.
Now Omega is moving in with a directly owned and run flagship.
The 1,300 square foot (120sqm) boutique is located alongside the Bucherer showroom at the foot of the Royal Opera House and will have tier one status when it comes to bagging the best of Omega’s watch collections.
“Covent Garden is such a vibrant part of London and provides a very exciting and luxurious location for our newest boutique. Customers here will really get a chance to see the magic of our watchmaking and also discover our famous brand DNA, from space and ocean exploration through to James Bond and the Olympic Games,” promises Raynald Aeschlimann, president and CEO of Omega.
