Luminox takes flight with new pilot’s watch

Taking inspiration from one of the most revolutionary airplanes of its time designed by Lockheed, the watch goes by the name – Constellation.

As the official watch partner for the American Aerospace engineering firm, Lockheed Martin, Luminox has taken to the skies with a new pilot watch.

Taking inspiration from one of the most revolutionary airplanes of its time designed by Lockheed, the watch goes by the name – Constellation.

Fondly nicknamed, Connie, the plane was a game changer for both civil and military aviation, setting flight time records including the quickest flight from Burbank, CA to Washington, DC in 1944 in just under 7 hours at an average speed of 331 miles/hour (roughly 533km/hour).

That flight was piloted by TWA owner Howard Hughes, who was instrumental in bringing the craft to market.

The Constellation Automatic 9600 is available in 4 different variations all with a 42mm steel case and elegant 3D case back.

The range of dial colors include Black with Beige indicators, Gray with Beige indicators, or Beige with Black. The black dial option has a choice of strap or steel bracelet.

In the tradition of classical pilot’s watches, a triangle with two dots is placed at 12 o’clock to provide time at a glance and quick orientation while the Swiss-made Automatic movement provides precision timing keep with a date indicator at 3 o’clock.

It offers a 38-hour power reserve when fully wound.
