IWC will be using the very first Las Vegas Formula 1 grand prix as a platform to introduce two fresh racing chronographs with motorsport partners, a titanium model with Mercedes-AMG while Ceratanium is used for a collaboration piece with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.

Ceratanium is a patented material developed by IWC that has the lightness and structural integrity of titanium with a hardness and scratch-resistance similar to ceramic.

Both come in the IWC Pilot Performance Chronograph 41 form with ceramic tachymeter bezels.

And they both use the same the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre, visible via exhibition case backs.

“The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 combines our extensive know-how in developing industry-leading chronographs with our comprehensive expertise in advanced materials,” says Chris Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.

“Both these new chronographs feature ceramic bezels with tachymeter scales, adding the dimension of speed to the highly accurate stop time measurements and making these robust chronographs the perfect companions for people with a dynamic, fast-paced lifestyle,” he adds.

Titanium model for Mercedes-AMG Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 costs £8,650.

The Ceratanium piece with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team is £10,400.
