London watch brand Mr Jones is serving up a healthy dose of 1960s irony with its latest watch, Flower Power.
The colourful outline of a flower appears and disappears on the dial over the course of time. On closer inspection the individual petals of the flower reveal themselves to be colourful Kalashnikov assault rifles.
Crispin Jones, brand founder, explained the design, saying: "Flower Power is inspired by the philosophy and imagery of anti-war protest movements from the 1960s. It embodies the hope that as time passes the gun will be transformed from a tool of war to one of peace – the Biblical notion of turning swords into ploughshares. Looking at it another way it reflects the alternating cycle of war to peace, the balancing of harmony with chaos through history".
The watch has been produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces for £145 with each piece individually numbered on the caseback.
