Ineichen wraps up 2022 auction calendar with near-CHF 3 million sale

An Audemars Piguet topped the lots, fetching CHF 300,000 – CHF 12,000 over its official estimate.

Ineichen has completed its auctions for 2022 with a watch sale that fetched nearly 3 million swiss francs.

In doing so, it saw an Audemars Piguet top the lots, fetching CHF 300,000 – CHF 12,000 over its official estimate.

This builds on its October auctions which saw Girard-Perregaux watches as the best performers, with a Vintage 1945 XXL Tourbillon Magistral selling for almost double its estimate at CHF 95’000 while a De Bethune DB28 RSS and a De Bethune Dreamwatch Three Tourbillon went under the hammer for CHF 100’000 each, exceeding their high by CHF 30’000 and CHF 20’000, respectively.

The MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual Calendar performed equally well, selling for CHF 130’000.

Ineichen’s total company evaluation was confirmed at CHF 47’700’000 following the sale of ownership shares towards a maximum 33% stake in Ineichen.

The calculation is derived from the average bid per lot at CHF 238’500. The total bid by 22 contenders from 11 countries was CHF 151’447’500.

Artemy Lechbinsky, Ineichen Auctioneers CEO, reflected: “Despite more than 90% of Ineichen’s auction presence moving online since the pandemic, the live events have proved to be great for networking and celebrating the results.

“We appreciate the digital support and look forward to hosting more bidders in person at our auctions at Stadthausquai 11 in Zurich next year.”

The auction house recently scrapped the buyer’s premium, so successful bidders pay only the hammer price.
