Frederique Constant buoyed by spike in retailer conversations in Geneva

Watch brand encouraged by talks with the trade and significant interest from the general public during its showing at Watches and Wonders

Frederique Constant and Alpina Watches are hopeful that a spike in retailer engagements during last week’s Watches and Wonders will translate to new business in the months ahead.

The two brands, part of the Japanese Citizen Group, reported that the number of appointments they had with retailers and the press marked an increase on the previous year.

Furthermore, a product animation at the booth generated “significant interest” from professionals and the public.

“The positive feedback and general enthusiasm regarding the new releases from both brands contributed to the success of this week,” the companies said in a statement.

Located on La Place, opposite the Carré des Horlogers, the brands shared a common booth spanning 200 square metres.

At the show, Frederique Constant unveiled the Classic Date Manufacture, available in three dial variations and housing the new in-house caliber FC-706, as well as the Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture, available in three dial variations and with the new in-house caliber FC-716.

Both new calibers boast a power reserve of 72 hours and are encased in a 40-millimeter case, while the warranty has been extended to five years.

It also showcased the Classics Elegance Luna, with four variations all powered by an automatic movement.

All four models feature a jewel-set minute track; two also have a bezel set with jewels, making a total of 96 diamonds.

Watches and Wonders gathered over 49,000 unique visitors throughout the week in Geneva, including 5,700 retailers, 1,500 journalists, and the general public on the last three days of the fair.
