Festive Attire From Hermès

Created in 1978 by Henri d’Origny, the Arceau watch seamlessly blends classicism with singularity. With its round shape resting gracefully on a ‘stirrup’, it provides a canvas for infinite expressions of creativity and expertise.

The asymmetrical lugs framing its case embody the Hermès style, showcasing original forms of craftsmanship. In its latest version, miniature painting, leather marquetry, and sequins artfully reinterpret the Costume de Fête silk scarf by Warsaw-born artist Jan Bajtlik.

Presented in white gold and rose gold variations, both adorned with 82 diamonds, the Arceau Costume de Fête watch features a dial that harmonises craft techniques as creative as they are demanding. The lively equestrian motif, inspired by Polish folk culture, comes to life through the vivid imagination of Jan Bajtlik, drawing inspiration from traditional Krakow costumes and ornaments.

With pearls, sequins, and coloured leather, the Arceau watch showcases festive finery. Housed in a 38mm case, the manufacture Hermès H1912 movement with 50 hours of power reserve is a witness to meticulous finishing. The iconic ‘sprinkling of Hs’ pattern on its bridges and oscillating weight ca be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback.

Complementing these timepieces are sakura pink and electric blue calfskin straps. Each model issued in a limited edition of 24 pieces.

The horse, miniaturised to dial size, is created in the Hermès atelier. Brightly coloured beads take shape on a sculpted metal base, while leather marquetry reveals the spirited steed through slim tesserae cut from different coloured leathers. Delicately applied sequins and hand-painted details of the harness add the final touches to this masterpiece.
