Fellows to host joint horology & automobile event with Simon de Burton

The event will also reveal the true story behind Steve McQueen wearing a Heuer Monaco whilst filming the 1971 film, Le Mans.

An event with one of the country’s top watch writers covering the history and connection between horology and the automobile is set to take place in Mayfair, London.

Fellows Auctioneers is hosting the event with Simon de Burton – an experienced watch journalist and author, at its Mayfair office at 6pm on Wednesday 27th April 2022, Horology & the Automobile follows on from Simon’s previous talk – a hugely popular Watches for War webinar at Fellows in 2020.

In-person tickets are priced at £10, while the live webinar and recording can be purchased for free.

Simon de Burton’s event will discuss the history between two of the world’s most stylish industries and look at collaborations and the connection between Rolex’s split-seconds chronograph and Targa Florio.

The event will also reveal the true story behind Steve McQueen wearing a Heuer Monaco whilst filming the 1971 film, Le Mans.

Fellows Auctioneers is hosting a series of events across 2022.

On Wednesday 23rd March a talk by Dr Nicola Tallis entitled Uncrowned Queen – A Life in Jewels was held at the company’s Mayfair premises.
