EXCLUSIVE: Vacheron Constantin opening Edinburgh boutique with Chisholm Hunter

The address of 3 Frederick Street is part of the Chisholm Hunter showroom, suggesting it will be carved out of the retailer’s current multibrand space.

Vacheron Constantin is opening a monobrand boutique in Edinburgh later this year in partnership with Chisholm Hunter, WatchPro can exclusively reveal.

An exact date has not been set, only that it will open in the autumn.

It is billed as Vacheron Constantin’s first boutique outside of London, where it has locations on Old Bond Street and within Harrods Fine Watch Room, and will have its own entrance and frontage onto Edinburgh’s Frederick Street.

“This new boutique will offer clients the best space and the best location for exclusive services and amazing experiences. The refined interior will incorporate modern elegance with the maison’s new boutique design concept. Demonstrating Vacheron Constantin’s limitless technical and aesthetic creativity, customers will be welcome to discover a variety of timepieces and calibres, from simple models to high complications, as well as exclusive editions,” a statement from Vacheron Constantin says.

Frederick Street runs uphill from Princes Street to George Street.

Chisholm Hunter’s three-storey multibrand showroom occupies the corner of Edinburgh’s famous Princes Street and Frederick Street, which runs uphill to George Street, where luxury jewellers Laings and Hamilton & Inches are located. Rox also has a boutique further along George Street.

Chisholm Hunter would not provide any additional details on the Vacheron Constantin boutique when WatchPro called for comment yesterday, but a visual sent with the breaking news shows a standalone, double-windowed frontage onto Frederick Street.

Vacheron Constantin appears determined to expand its network of monobrand stores, whether directly owned and operated by the company, or in conjunction with retail partners.

In the past month, WatchPro has reported on a spectacular new flagship opening in midtown Manhattan and a boutique opened in partnership with the brand’s authorised dealer in Chicago.
