Exclusive first look around Berry’s new Patek Philippe and fine jewellery showroom in York

Berry’s Jewellers has opened its third showroom on Stonegate, a historic pedestrianised street leading to the historic Minster in York.

The latest boutique is dedicated to a single watch brand, Patek Philippe, and Berry’s fine jewellery.

It is located in a Grade 1 listed building that can trace its history back to the Elizabethan era of the 1500s.

Berry’s has taken a lease on the entire building, which has fine jewellery and Patek Philippe areas on the ground floor and rooms for private consultations and small customer events on the first floor.

The project has been a labour of love, along with plenty of blood, sweat and tears, to bring the building (which has stood empty for many years since last being used by Links of London) back to life in the face of all the challenges associated with working in such an ancient listed property.

Berry’s now has three stores on Stonegate.

Its first, at No.52, is being reconfigured with additional space for IWC and Jaeger-LeCoultre alongside Cartier as its major draws.

Berry’s opened a second showroom in 2020 at No.1 Stonegate anchored by Omega.

York is a highly competitive city for premium watches, with Mappin & Webb having recently opened a Rolex-anchored showroom.
