Avatar is back on big screens this month, 13 years after the planet of Pandora first wowed the movie world.
The Avatar franchise is being developed by its owner, Disney, into a multi-movie series with the appeal and staying power of Star Wars.
As an official partner with Disney, Citizen Watch America, knows the power of a blockbuster and has unveiled three timepieces that pick up themes from the sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.
All of them use Citizen’s Eco-Drive solar power technology, which means they never need a battery.
Citizen Mens Wave AW1708-57W
First up is a men’s stainless steel dive watch featuring Leonpteryx, a sea creature used for transport by the people of Pandora.
The aerial predator is seen on a 3-hand dial that features a bi-color case ring that emulates a wave splashing, with a date function and luminous hands that add high clarity to the dial details.
It has chronograph, dual time zones, perpetual calendar, and 12/24-hour time features and is water resistant to 100 meters.
Citizen Ladies Tree of Souls FE7105-09W
This women’s watch features a ‘Tree of Soul’ print on the dial, which is said to be the closest alliance to Eywa on Pandora.
This black IP-coated steel timepiece is water resistant to 50 meters and sustainably powered by light with Eco-Drive technology and never needs a battery.
Citizen Unisex Wave AW2060-02W
This watch showcases the glorious landscape of Pandora, with a focus on the oceans and the reefs where the tribe resides.
A silver sunray dial featuring the ocean and reef where the tribes live is paired with a sustainable brown leather strap.
The collection will retail between $250-$325 and will be available for purchase from December 9 at www.citizenwatch.com.
