Christopher Ward’s two-tone Twelve is a timepiece of timeless elegance

Twelve 36 Alta Gold dials up the luxury for Christopher Ward's popular sport chic collection.

Hot on the back of its 2023 GPHG win, Anglo-Swiss watchmaker Christopher Ward today unveils its new Twelve 36 Alta Gold.

Marrying classic design with modern sophistication, the watch features a 36mm steel case topped with an 18-carat multi-angled rose-gold bezel that captures the essence of luxury.

The Twelve, which launched earlier this year is the brand’s integrated sports watch collection, identified by its slim dodecagonal case, triple-finished bezel and integrated bracelet.

According to Christopher Ward, the new version of the watch came about after customers requested a ‘classic’ Twelve 36 combined with the rose-gold bezel of The Twelve Halo.

Through some experimentation and minor adjustments, The Twelve 36 Alta Gold emerged and is now arguably the most aesthetically pleasing Twelve model to date.

The Alta Gold showcases the same textured dial as the original Twelve but without a date window, emphasising clarity and space.

Slimmer indexes gracefully sit on the shimmering dial, while the hands are filled with lashings of luminous material for perfect timekeeping after dark.

Christopher Ward’s ‘twin-flags’ logo applique sits at 12 o’clock.

The polished, multi-angled gold bezel plays with light to deliver a mesmerising contrast against the refined aesthetic of The Twelve.

This feature adds a touch of luxury, elevating every aspect of the watch.

With a 36mm case that is water-resistant to 100 metres, the Alta Gold is on trend with the current fashion for smaller watch sizes, catering to both male and female wrists.

The brushed, polished, and sandblasted finish adds a contemporary touch to the classic design.

Within the case is the Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement with elaboré-finished rotor that can be seen through the sapphire crystal window in the 12-sided caseback.

The 4 Hz calibre is accurate to within -20 / +20 seconds per day.

The watch is presented on the single-link Twelve bracelet, which features a pleasing taper and a hidden butterfly clasp.
