Bulova still channeling that seventies vibe

Girard-Perregaux’s 1970s LED throwback Casquette is already a cult classic, but if its price tag of £3,600 is a little rich, Bulova has a backup for you in the form or its Computron LED reissue.

Girard-Perregaux’s 1970s LED throwback Casquette watch has been one of the surprise hits of 2022 and a cult classic in the making.

But if its price tag of £3,600 is a little rich, or you couldn’t get on the waiting list for the 820 unit limited edition, Bulova has a backup for you in the form or its Computron LED reissue in black IP stainless steel for just £299.

There is also a special edition of the Computron with a depiction of a circuit board on top that is retailing for £399.

Bulova is aiming the quartz watches squarely at the geek market and is promoting it on Decentraland, part of the D-Cave metaverse marketplace.

Decentraland users can buy the physical watches, their NFT, and a wearable version to use on their avatars.

Stefano Rosso, Founder and CEO of D-Cave states, “We are very excited to have the opportunity to work on an iconic item like Bulova’s Computron and re-interpret it in a futuristic way, bridging the original physical item to its new virtual version. Metaverse is not a trend, it is a new way of living. Our physical life is and will be more and more integrated with our digital life. And as in real life we want to express who we are also through the brands we love, the same will happen in the metaverse.”
