Bell & Ross converts cockpit timekeeper into icy dive watch

Bell & Ross, a brand built on making watches that look like cockpit instruments, is banking on blurred lines with its ice-cool BR 03-92 Diver White watch.

How do punters choose which style of watch to buy these days?

Do they weigh up dive watches versus pilot watches, or is that distinction far less important than the difference between a bold three-hander and a more technical chronograph?

There are good commercial reasons for the shift into diver-style watches and Bell & Ross does have form in the sector having created the Hydromas back in 1997 that was water resistant to a depth of 11,100 meters.

While square watches are notoriously hard to protect underwater, the circular dial in a square case is simpler, and the BR 03-92 Diver White watch will easily survive to a depth of 1,000 feet or 300 meters.

The 42mm steel watch houses the BR-CAL.302 automatic movement and can be worn on interchangeable straps made from woven black rubber or black synthetic fabric.

It is on sale for £3,200.
