British indies create unique watches for cancer support charity auction that opens today

Some of Britain’s most successful watch businesses (and a couple from Europe) have created unique timepieces for a charity auction raising money for Maggie’s Centres, a cancer support and care provider with 24 facilities throughout the UK.

Some of Britain’s most successful watch businesses (and a couple from Europe) have created unique timepieces for a charity auction raising money for Maggie’s Centres, a cancer support and care provider with 24 facilities throughout the UK.

The timed auction, held online by Lyon & Turnbull, begins today, August 16, and ends on August 23.

There are nine one-of-one watches being donated to the sale by Christopher Ward, Fears, Isotope, Sartory Billard, Paulin, Studio Underd0g, Bamford Watch Department, William Wood and anOrdain.

On the opening morning of the auction, most lots are still keenly priced in the hundreds of pounds, although Studio Underd0g’s Blueberry Chronograph has already attracted a bid of £3,000.

EveryWatch was the concept of Lyon & Turnbull’s head of watches Sarah Fergusson and supported by watch-lovers podcast Scottish Watches, on which she regularly appears as a co-host.

“The auction in support of Maggie’s Centres offers a really rare opportunity for enthusiasts to access watches from coveted micro brands. These companies have grown in popularity so much recently that many of their models are now wait-listed. Even more exciting for collectors is that each watch is a one-of-one, created specifically for this auction, with unique elements including EveryWatch branded rotors and caseback crystals,” Ms Ferguson says.

Proceeds from the sale will help fund the running of Maggie’s Glasgow and Edinburgh centres.
